What is Women’s Health Inequality?
Unfair and preventable inequalities persist between women and men in health, healthcare, and participation in health work. Such inequalities often result from bias, stereotyping, prejudice, and gaps in clinical knowledge. These discrepancies also affect health education, especially for young women of color and girls living in under-resourced communities. Furthmore, two in five people struggle to purchase period supplies due to lack of income. This is called period poverty and is also direct effect of gender-based inequalities in our society.
Our Mission
The loveYOU project aims to provide a peer-to-peer support system that offers resources and education to adolescent and teenage girls. We value and promote self-care, love, and health.
To fulfill our mission, we are focused on creating and distributing comprehensive and culturally attuned guides for self-care to girls in the US and around the world. We also work with businesses, nonprofits, and clinics to distribute care packages alongside our guides. We welcome any individual interested in our work to reach out directly to us to learn more and get involved.
